FAQS

Want to know more about our bananas?
Look no further.

At Pukpip, we’re on a mission to help you eat more fruit in fun, delicious and convenient ways. We bring the best of both worlds; real fruit, that’s real tasty.

Our name is made up of two parts: “Puk” as in Pukka, meaning real or good; and “Pip” as in the pips and seeds where all fruit begins.

It’s a name that reflects the happy, sustainable origins of our bananas, and we like how it pops when you say it too!

Yes, absolutely! Our bananas are 100% real and come in all different shapes and sizes, just as nature intended. Each stick has half a frozen banana, dipped in a delicious chocolate coating.

Our real bananas come in a range of chocolate-covered flavours. We currently produce Milk and Dark, and White will be launching soon too. Tell us what flavours you’d like to see next at Hello@Pukpip.com

We do our best to keep our bananas the same shape and size, but our bananas are real and each one is a little different, just as nature intended. Sometimes they’re a little wonky too. We call this perfectly imperfect and we won’t let them go to waste!

Just as nature intended, all bananas are different and some might have a few little lumps or bumps. This means the chocolate may not coat the banana completely evenly. We call these perfectly imperfect, and rest assured they taste just as good!

Our bananas are sourced from the coastal region of Ecuador, where the tropical climate and rich soil makes conditions ideal for growing bananas all year long.

We buy bananas rejected from export due to small imperfections or markings on their skin, because they’re the wrong shape or size, or simply because there are too many on a bunch. We upcycle these bananas that would otherwise go to waste, helping them find their true calling as tasty, chocolate-covered treats.

Once our bananas are peeled, dipped and safely in the freezer, we also upcycle the leftover skins back into the ecosystem.

Our chocolate is expertly crafted by our chocolate partners in Italy, and has been perfectly paired with our creamy bananas for a match made in heaven – whichever flavour you choose.

Our chocolate is responsibly, ethically, and sustainably sourced.

Our partners are committed to environmental causes and invest in sustainable farming practices, renewable energy and water reduction. They support local farmers and workers through education and financial incentives, and never buy from areas of conflict, poor human rights, or ecological danger. They place the greatest importance on People, Supply Chain, Environment, and Innovation.

Our bananas are only frozen when they reach their perfect ripeness and taste, locking in all those useful minerals and vitamins. This means they taste delicious and far fewer bananas go to waste.

It’s a personal choice! Some like to eat them straight out of the freezer, others wait for 3 minutes, for a softer, creamier treat.

Our bananas are a perfect treat at any time of the day: lunch time, snack time, or even breakfast time!

Yes! All of our products are suitable for vegetarians

Our real bananas dipped in dark chocolate are Vegan Certified.

Absolutely! All of our bananas are gluten free, so you can enjoy our full range without any worries.

Please always check the ingredients list for information about allergens before consuming

Ingredients, allergens and nutritional information can be found next to each flavour here on our website, as well as on the back of each pack. For more information, get in touch with us at hello@pukpip.com.

We handle the following allergens on site: dairy, egg, and peanuts. Please check each individual flavour for allergen info and precautionary allergen info before purchasing and eating.

Allergens highlighted in bold on the ingredients list are definitely contained in that product. Please also take note of the allergens which are handled in the factory as this highlights the risk of cross contamination of allergens to a product. Whilst we have strict controls in place, we cannot guarantee 100% absence of these allergens.

Soya lecithin is a natural stabiliser derived from soya beans. It’s often found in chocolate and is used to make the chocolate all lovely and smooth. We trialled lots of different chocolate recipes and found these ones were by far the best. The Great Taste Awards agreed too!

Our boxes and sticks can be recycled at home and our wrappers are widely recycled in front of almost all large supermarkets.

We’re really sorry to hear that! If you find any problems with our products, please send us an email at hello@pukpip.com with as much information as you can. Try to include the batch code and Best Before Date, as well as photos if possible, so that we can investigate your complaint properly.
