We love taste, not waste

a change

An incredible 30% of all food produced globally goes to waste. That’s a BIG problem, but upcycling can help to reduce food waste and its environmental impact.

Happily, 95% of us want to see food waste reduced, and at Pukpip we’re doing our little bit to make that happen.

ALL TASTE. LESS WASTE

Did you know that over a billion perfectly delicious bananas are thrown away by producers every year, just because they’re bit wonky, not the right size, have small marks on their skin or simply because there are too many on a bunch? Not on our watch.

Pukpip upcycles the bananas that would otherwise go to waste, helping them find their true calling as tasty, chocolate covered treats.

Freezing is believing

Frozen fruit has all the same nutritional benefits as fresh fruit. We freeze our bananas when they reach the perfect taste and ripeness, locking in all those useful vitamins and minerals when they’re at their peak. By freezing our fruit at source in Ecuador, it means far fewer bananas get wasted.

Using every last bit

Banana peels are tough, chewy and not very tasty (trust us). They do have some nutritional value though, so once our bananas are peeled, dipped and safely in the freezer, the leftover skins are upcycled back into the ecosystem.

plus our boxes can be recycled at home and our wrappers are widely recycled in front of almost all large supermarkets.
